A septum piercing is on the lower end of the pain spectrum for nose piercings. However, the sharp pain with the initial piercing may make your eye water.
The size of the jewelry depends on the shape and size of your nose, making the experience unique for each individual. Work with your piercer to hear what they think it will look like and test out different looks with pieces of jewelry.
Septum piercings are typically pierced with a 16 or 18 gauge needle, which is 1.27mm or 1.00mm thick, respectively. Some piercers may use a 14 gauge needle depending on the client.
Please follow the recommended sizing that was recommended by your piercer. You should never use jewelry that is smaller than the recommended size by your piercer in order to prevent tearing and rejection.
