Most people wear our standard (6mm) backing comfortably. If your ears are thinner, or you find that your earrings are drooping, you may prefer a short (4mm) backing. These are easily the prettiest hypoallergenic crescent moon flat backs available, and I'd say I absolutely love them, except for a design flaw, which is why I only give them 4 stars. The internal thread is so short that they are almost impossible to put on. I've included a picture that compares the length of a competitor's flat back (left) with this one (right), and you can see how much shorter it is. I can put the competitor's flat backs on within a minute or 2, but the Maison Miru Pave Moon flat backs might take 20 minutes or more for me to get them on, making them very impractical. I'd only recommend them if you're willing to take the time and frustration to put them in. They're really pretty but flawed.
