The MIRU 2026 Advent Calendar
For ten years, I’ve been designing jewelry for daily life. Along the way, a select few other objects have become part of our own daily rhythms and earned a permanent place in the MIRU world.
Consider this calendar a 2026 time capsule: a collection of jewelry I chose to reflect our bestsellers, new pieces we introduced this year, and a glimpse of what lies ahead.
Explore the intention behind each piece below.

I. The Art of Noticing

Bold Hoops
I tend to be an all-or-nothing person. But sometimes the best pieces live in the middle: familiar enough to wear every day, with just enough presence to make the whole thing feel considered. That’s the Bold Hoop. Think of it as a classic hoop with a little more to say. An eternal classic, and potentially the foundation of your hoop wardrobe.

Celestial Crystal Solitaire Nap Earrings, 6mm
The Celestial Crystal Solitaire Nap Earrings® were the very first ones we brought to life. I see them as a bit of a marker of time for us, a reminder of where we started. They’re meant to be worn on their own, beside a hoop, or layered into your existing stack. Paired with yesterday’s Bold Hoops, they make a foundation stack I’d happily wear on repeat.

5 Minute Hourglass
This 5 minute hourglass sits on my desk as a physical symbol of attention. It’s a pause in the day, a reminder to make room for the things you love, the things that give you energy. Five minutes is not much, I know. But it can be enough to drink your tea while it’s still hot, read a few pages, sit in the sunlight, call someone you love—or do absolutely nothing.
What would you do with five minutes? Better yet: what do you want to make room for?
II. Making Inspiration Visible

Orbital Ring
I know this is nerdy, but the inspiration behind the Orbital Ring is quite literally the electron orbitals you see in atoms. I find them entrancing: a reminder that there is an underlying order to matter, but still so much room for possibility.
The ring itself is designed to evoke a sense of movement. A small reminder that the world is always changing, and so are we.

Bezel Pear Chain Nap Earrings
The Bezel Pear Chain Nap Earrings are our OG chain style, the one that earned us a Refinery29 MVP award. Added bonus? I find it to be the easiest Nap Earring to wear because the chain connects the front to the flat back.

The Inspiration Kit: Geometric Sticky Notes + Sign Pens
I have a deep love for stationery, and when I saw these geometric sticky notes, my heart skipped a beat. They’re basically Post-its, but so much prettier.
The Sign Pens have their own story. I first found them at a specialty stationery store in Paris. They’ve since been discontinued, but I tracked down the original source—Pentel—and customized the colors to the ones I actually use every day.
You never know when inspiration will strike, so keep these stickies and pens close.
III. The Passage of Time

Toi Et Moi Nap Earrings
Toi et Moi jewelry holds a special place in the MIRU world because it expresses connection without losing individuality. For me, the Toi Et Moi Nap Earrings represent the relationship between my daughter and me: we’re two peas in a pod, but also distinctly ourselves.

Halo Oval Hoops, 15mm
The Halo Oval Hoops are structure and softness—a duality I find extremely satisfying. It’s a classic form I find myself returning to over time, just as I return to certain rituals to shape my days. Maybe it’s because the elongated shape reminds me of making room. So make room for what matters: a pause in your day, the people you care about, and perhaps most importantly, yourself.

5 Year Journal
Writing in my journal is a nightly routine I’ve kept for the last 20 years. What I love about the 5-Year Journal is how easy it is to jot down notes and observations—there are only a few lines, so you don’t get blank-page syndrome. You can look back at what you were doing on that same day in previous years. It’s a way to make time visible, and a fun way to see how you’ve changed over time. I keep one for myself and one for my daughter. I have a diary entry for every single day she’s been alive, and it’s one of my most prized possessions.
IV. Celebrating What Matters

Disc Hoops
I know I’m not supposed to play favorites, but the Disc Hoops are my favoritest of our titanium hoops. Their inspiration is twofold: modernist architecture, and the vinyl records I grew up listening to. I love the poetry of combining the solidity and longevity of architecture with the rhythm and emotion of music. These earrings are made for going out, turning up the volume, and celebrating.

North Star Nap Earrings
The North Star is where you look when you’re unsure where to go. It’s the thing that gives us meaning, whether that’s a person who helps you feel like yourself, or a belief you return to time after time. It makes me ask myself: What do I wish to carry forward? And perhaps more importantly, what do I need to let go of?

Brass Petal Jewelry Tray
What I love about brass is how beautifully it patinas over time, acquiring a history of its own alongside your jewelry. I was first introduced to this idea by Kaikado, a Japanese tea-caddy maker I discovered on a trip to Kyoto, way before MIRU was born. They don’t make jewelry trays, unfortunately, so I found the next best thing: this intentionally crafted brass dish from the Japanese lifestyle brand Fog Linen. I chose the petal tray because it reminds me of a flower unfurling, a small reminder to cherish your beautiful, messy life as it unfolds day by day.
