North Star Nap Earrings

I was looking for stud earrings for my second lobe piercings that would have more pizzazz than just plain studs but weren’t a super-specific object. This North Star design completely fits the bill. They’re pretty and unique, have a little sparkle, and go with everything. I love them in that regard.

The push pin design, however, made them extremely difficult to put on, and I almost got to the point where I thought I would have to return them. Contrary to what the item description says, they are NOT easy to insert! Trying to get the tiny pin into the tiny hole in the post was near impossible, and I have pretty steady hands. I finally got out my magnifying mirror, put on some strong reading glasses, and made sure I had a ton of light, and after a few tries, I was able to get them on. The whole process was not easy or quick! Also, it is not nearly as easy to make a bend in the pin (per the instructions) as it sounds. It is short and it’s very hard to tell where it is seated in the post after you finally manage to get them into the post (it’s supposed to be half way in), and trying to bend something that short and tiny while not tearing your piercing just seemed impossible. I eventually just pushed the pins in all the way and hoped for the best. So far so good (they haven’t fallen out), but I would really prefer a traditional post and backing. I’ve had my ears pierced for decades and never really felt like my earrings were poking me.

So, A+ for the star design, C- for the push pin posts (which seem unnecessary).
